Melvin H. Miller, 92, of Pittstown, Franklin Township, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born May 17, 1932 in Pohatcong Township, NJ, Melvin lived in Milford, NJ, Holland Township, NJ, and Riegelsville, NJ, before settling in Franklin Township, NJ in 1984. He attended Phillipsburg High School. Melvin served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He owned and worked for Rite-Way Service in Milford, NJ. Prior to that, Melvin worked as a hired hand for local farms, worked for Oxford Textiles in Belvidere, NJ, and worked as a machine operator for Keystone Box Co. in Holland Township, NJ. Melvin spent his time doing puzzles, gardening, and especially loved mowing the grass and being outdoors enjoying nature. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Son of the late Elias and Edna (Sigafoos) Miller, Melvin is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Dorothy (Ackerman) Miller, his two daughters Linda Dudeck and her husband Richard of Holland Township, NJ, and Yvonne Wischner and her husband Gary of Kingwood Township, NJ, his son Marvin Miller of Anderson, SC, his sister Geraldine Frace of Allentown, PA, his brother James Miller and his wife Lois of Stewartsville, NJ, his sister-in-law Marie Miller of Alpha, NJ, his four grandchildren Tammy and Christina Dudeck, Kelly Wischner, and Amber (Wischner) Hockenbury, and his two great-grandchildren Cierra and Celena Dudeck. He was predeceased by his son Michael Miller in 1985 and his two brothers Richard Miller and Nelson Miller.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Plainfield Cemetery, in Pen Argyl, PA.
