Paul A. Carbin, 70, of Holland Township, NJ passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 24, 1942 in the Bronx, NY, Paul spent his childhood in Belleville, NJ before moving to Sparta, NJ. He and his family settled in Holland Township NJ in 1972. He was a graduate of Newton High School and attended Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg, NJ where he earned Associates degrees in Marketing and Business Management. He served in the US Navy for 5 years from which he was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was on active duty, stationed in San Salvador during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and also stationed on the island of Bermuda. Paul was employed by Sprint in Annandale, NJ where he was Operations Manager for the state retiring after 40 years of service. He was a very active member of Greenwich Presbyterian Church. Paul loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed being a member of the Indian Guides and Princesses organization at the Riegel Ridge YMCA when his children were young. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed maintaining his orchard of various fruit trees, of which he planted himself. He also enjoyed watching birds and deer in his backyard that benefited from the fruits of his labor. He enjoyed traveling with his family and visited many places all over the world. Paul lived life to the fullest and greeted everyone and every day with open arms and open heart.
Son of the late Edwin and Jeannette Carbin, Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Adrianne (Boss) Carbin, his son Darrin Carbin of Pen Argyl, PA, his daughters Deborah Epstein of Phillipsburg, NJ and Rebecca Carbin of East Stroudsburg, PA, his two Grandchildren Rachel and Jacob Epstein, a sister Judith Deckert and husband James of Newton, NJ, a brother Edwin and his wife Tina of Palm Bay, FL, as well as nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 11 AM at the Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 17 Greenwich Church Road, Stewartsville, NJ. Interment will follow in Greenwich Cemetery in Stewartsville, NJ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 6 9 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.
