Peg Bittenmaster LaVecchio, 86, of Ocean City, NJ passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, NJ.
Born December 7, 1925 in Riegelsville, NJ, Peg lived in Frenchtown, Milford and Flemington, NJ before moving to Ocean City, NJ twenty seven years ago. She was a graduate of Frenchtown High School. Peg had worked in the medical field for over forty years, most recently as an office manager for Dr. Donald L. Traynor, DMD in Ocean City, NJ. Peg loved life and people, and people loved her. She loved to travel, most recently traveling to Hawaii to attend her grandsons wedding. She was an excellent cook and made the best marinara sauce. She was the best mother, mother-in-law and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Daughter of the late William and Margaret Bittenmaster, Peg is survived by her son Pete LaVecchio of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, her daughter Marilee Traynor and her husband Dr. Donald L. Traynor, DMD of Fort Lauderdale, FL, sister Maetta DeWire of Stewartsville, NJ, two brothers John Bittenmaster and his wife Arlene of Phillipsburg, NJ and Bob Bittenmaster and his wife Elaine of East Stroudsburg, PA, grandchildren Dr. Ron LaVecchio and his wife Katy and Suzanne LaVecchio and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred P. LaVecchio (1991), a sister Eleanor Sheridan and a brother Bill Bittenmaster.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 1, 2012 at 12 noon at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with the Reverend William TexCulton officiating. Interment will follow in Frenchtown Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Monday from 11am 12 noon, prior to the service at the funeral home.
