Robert W. Lovering, 76, of Harmony Township, NJ passed away on Monday October 19, 2009 at Brakeley Park Care Center, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born February 21, 1933 in Somerville, NJ, Robert lived in Hunterdon County and Warren County most of his life, settling in Harmony 36 years ago. He worked at Harry Brown Drilling in Bloomsbury as a well driller prior to working at Ernie Tomer Trucking as a truck driver in Phillipsburg, NJ. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper and was a veteran of the Korean War. Robert enjoyed hunting, stock car racing, flea marketing, jitterbugging, storytelling, and wrestling. He was an avid collector of pens and proud of his collection.

Son of the late Robert and Adeline Yorks Lovering, Robert is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Virginia Anderson Lovering, sons Rodney Lovering of Milford, NJ and Randy Lovering of Harmony Township, NJ, daughters Patti Miller of Easton, PA, Martha Moore of Saylorsburg, PA, Candy Enste of Lyndhurst, NJ, Tanya Vreeland of Milford, NJ, and Barbara McMullen of Nazareth, PA, two brothers William Lovering of Forked River and John Lovering of Manville, NJ, grandchildren Michelle, Greg, Lisa, Rich, Susan, Michael, Justin, A.J., Robert, and David, and great-grandchildren Sable and Kaylee. Robert was predeceased by sisters Carrie Samoge, Doris Siroki, Joan Pardo, son-in-law Richard Miller, Jr. and grandson Ryan Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Friday October 23, 2009 at 10 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ followed by interment at Milford Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
