Robert “Bob” N. Rummel, of Holland Township, NJ, passed away peacefully with his beloved family by his side on Friday, January 2, 2026 at his home.
Born on June 30, 1940, in Phillipsburg, NJ, Bob was a lifelong resident of Holland Township, NJ. He is a graduate of Frenchtown High School. Bob “worked 43 years at Power and Light” as a lineman before retiring from JCP&L in Flemington, NJ. He was a member of the Farmer’s Sportsman Club in Holland Township, NJ, and the Dirty Dozen Hunting Camp in Port Allegany, PA. Bob was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors, sports, and most of all, his family.
Son of the late Joseph John and Marjorie (Tomson) Rummel, Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Catherine (Martino) Rummel, his two sons Robert J. Rummel and his wife Robin of Chickamauga, GA, and Dean Rummel of Palmer Township, PA, and his beloved grandchildren Chesney, Rebecca, Ryan, and Brooke. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Ruth Rapp Rummel.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1 pm at the Mountain View Chalet, 154 NJ Route 173, Asbury, NJ 08802. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s honor to the Milford-Holland Rescue Squad, 151 Water Street, Milford, NJ 08848.
