Robert J. Shedlock, 78, of Alexandria Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday March 15, 2012 at The Hunterdon Medical Center, in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born May 13, 1933 in Plainfield, NJ Robert lived in Warren, NJ before moving to Alexandria Township 18 years ago. He graduated from North Plainfield High School. He was a very successful businessman, owning one of the first landscaping companies in Central Jersey, Bob Shedlock Landscaping, Warren, NJ, since 1962. A veteran of the Korean War, Robert served in the U.S. Navy as a medic. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

Son of the late Joseph and Ann Stefko Shedlock, Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Elaine Fazekas Shedlock, his daughters Joanne Lange and her husband Kenneth of Annandale, NJ, Mary Jane Fancera and her husband Joseph of Milford, NJ, and Nancy Machin and her husband Joe of Milford, NJ, sons Joseph Shedlock and his wife Georgette of Neshanic Station, NJ, and Robert Shedlock and his wife Michele of Alexandria Township, NJ, and grandchildren Samantha, Richie, Anthony, Brandon, Aidan, Alex, Tyler and Corey.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be at the Holland Cemetery, Holland Township, NJ. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
