Ronald J. Soos, Sr., 72, of Pohatcong Township, formerly of Frenchtown, NJ passed away on Wednesday August 19, 2009 in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born March 8, 1937 in Elizabeth, NJ, Ronald lived in Frenchtown, NJ prior to moving to Pohatcong Township. He attended Columbia High School in Kearney, NJ. Ronald worked at Magnesium Electron Co. in Flemington, NJ. He had worked at the Riegel Ridge YMCA in Holland Township for 13 years, prior to that he worked at Midway Garage as a mechanic and H.J. Opdyke Lumber Co. as a truck driver, both in Alexandria Township. He attended the Baptistown Baptist Church. Ronald served in the Army National Guard in the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, and camping with his family.

Son of the late Joseph G. and Mary Wutka Soos, Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Mina Jane Soos, sons Richard Rick Smith and his wife Darrell and Ronald Soos, Jr. and his wife Tracy all of Frenchtown, NJ, daughters Dawn Soos and Ronda Schaible and her husband Robert all of Pohatcong Township, brother Andrew Soos of Warren, NJ, sister Mary Henckel of South Carolina, 10 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday September 13, 2009 at 2 PM at the Baptistown Baptist Church, 1040 County Road 519, Frenchtown, NJ. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ.
