Sandford G. Franklin Obituary

Sandford G. Franklin, 88, of Holland Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at his home.

Born May 4, 1925 in Scranton, PA, Sanford was the son of Ernest L. and Jessie Newnham Franklin. He and his wife Marilyn have been married for 66 years.

Sanford graduated from Girard College. He also served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. Sanford lived in Holland Township since 1957. He was employed by General Electric, located in Schenectady, NY in the General Engineering Laboratory and also at their Flight Test Lab. Sandford moved to New Jersey to work for Davidson and Hemmendinger in Easton, PA designing color measurement computers. Later, he worked as a consultant at Lehigh Securities in Allentown, PA.

Sanford served several years on the Board of Education at Delaware Valley Regional High School. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League and the Milford Vol. Fire Company.

In addition to his wife, Sandford is survived by his daughter, Dr. Martha Franklin of Kingsley, PA, a brother Ernest Franklin and nephew James Franklin both of Oahu, Hawaii.

Services will be private, following Sandfords wishes. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ.
