Sophia Greene, 80, of Milford, NJ passed away on Monday June 29, 2009 at Easton Hospital.

Born July 28, 1928 in Cassandra, PA, Sophia lived in Frenchtown on the Lelo family farm before moving to Milford. She was a home maker and at one time worked at the Plessey Porcelain Company in Frenchtown. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church of America and St. Margarets Aides in Alpha, NJ. She was also a member of the Milford VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Federated Orthodox Clubs of America. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Daughter of the late John and Anna (Hrycowian) Lelo, Sophias beloved husband Vincent R. Greene passed away in 2005. She is survived by her son Stephen V. Greene and his wife Jane, of Stroudsburg, PA; daughter Kathleen A. Luhrs and her husband William, of Williams Township, PA; grandson Jonah Luhrs; brothers, Joseph Lelo, Stephen Lelo and Gary Lelo; sisters, Mary Drenchko, Helen Powell and Anne Lelo; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, John Lelo and Metro Lelo, and by her sister Margaret Lelo.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 3, 2009 at 10 AM from the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ followed by Funeral Matins at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church of America, 2nd Ave., Alpha, NJ. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Cemetery in Alpha, NJ. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6 8 PM at the funeral home with Parastas at 7 PM.
