Steve Ogrodnik Obituary

Steve Ogrodnik, 93, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 20, 2012 at his home after a long illness.

Born September 13, 1919 in Northampton, PA, Steve was the third son of the late Alic Ogrodnik and Anna Eschuk Ogrodnik. He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. in North Africa, Sicily and Italy during WWII. He became fluent in Italian and was honorably discharged as a corporal. After the war, Steve was a traveling salesman, a bartender and a house painter before working for the U.S. Postal Service in Bethlehem, PA, retiring after 28 years of service. He loved polka music, bowling, gardening and the family farm. He was an honest and good hearted man and he will be dearly missed.

Steve is survived by his brother Alic, Jr. and his sister Anne Felix both of Kingwood Township, NJ and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Ida Mueller Ogrodnik and three brothers Paul, Mike and Joe.

Services will be private under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, Milford, NJ. Interment will be in Holy Savior Cemetery in Bethlehem, PA.
