Terry L. Kuntz Obituary

Terry L. Kuntz, affectionately known as “Pappy,” 74, of Upper Black Eddy, Bridgeton Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at St. Luke’s Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born on May 11, 1951, in Great Lakes, IL, Terry spent his childhood in South Carolina and Texas before settling in Pennsylvania, the place he would proudly call home. He graduated from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, TN, through the ROTC program, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Math.

Terry honorably served his country in the U.S. Army for 20 years, including during the Vietnam and Desert Storm eras. Following his retirement from the military in 1993, he continued to serve the nation through his work in the defense industry as a contracts manager for ESP Inc. in Eatontown, NJ, retiring in 2011.

A man of many talents and interests, Terry enjoyed woodworking, especially tinkering with his “weekend projects”, fishing, and camping. He was a longtime member of the Bridgeton Township Sportsman’s Club, where he served as President for eight years. Faith and community were central to his life—he was an active member of St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church and played an important role as part of its 100-year renovation team. In addition, Terry also served his community as an Emergency Management Officer for Bridgeton Township. His commitment to civic engagement extended to the Golden Agers, where he held the role of President for four years and Treasurer for three. In every capacity, Terry exemplified a deep-rooted dedication to service, leadership, and the well-being of those around him.

Terry will be remembered for his dedication, generosity, and love of family, faith, and country.

Son of the late Harry Arthur and Shirley Ann (Kocher) Kuntz, is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 31 years, Christine S. (Sorrentino) Kuntz. He leaves behind two sons, Nathan Kuntz and his wife Holly, and Steven Morgan and his wife Robin and two daughters, Jessica Giorgio and her husband Robert, and Lisa Morra and her husband Michael. Terry is also survived by his brother Grant “Bud” Kuntz and his wife Wanda, and three sisters Melissa Bastidas and her husband Alberto, Beverly Williams and her husband Chris, and Linda Bliss. His legacy lives on through his nine cherished grandchildren—Ryan, Tristan, Madison, Kelsey, Delia, Maria, Sara, Haley, and Xander.
