Virginia E. Fisher Obituary

Virginia E. Fisher, 96, of Hellertown, PA, formerly of Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on Tuesday January 3, 2012 at the Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, PA.

Born April 11, 1915 in Upper Black Eddy, PA, Virginia was a life long resident before moving to Hellertown. She graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1931, was a town reporter and wrote for the local paper. She married the love of her life, Arling Fisher, on June 16, 1937 and they were inseparable. They ran all of their errands together, cleaned the church weekly with one another, gardened side by side and could always be seen holding hands with one another. She missed him dearly after his early death and spoke to him daily in her prayers. She was a woman of extraordinary faith, who loved the fellowship of her congregation at the Milford Presbyterian Church. She was a soloist and sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was a caretaker and cleaned the church for a number of years, and was always a part of the church suppers, quilting club and womens fellowship groups. She was an incredible wife, mother and a pillar of the community who was dearly loved by all whose lives she touched.

Daughter of the late Edgar Allan and Jennie Pursell Williams, Virgina is survived by her two special granddaughters Ellen Joy Fisher-Wasyl and Jessica L. Fisher-Johnson who lived with her growing up, granddaughters Melissa Margot-Gustafson and Heather Margot, grandsons Eric P. Fisher, Ian R. Horton, Roger Margot, her precious great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her sister Marion Shoudt and her daughter-in-law Kandyce D. Fisher. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Arling E. Fisher, Feb. 14, 1975, son Keith W. Fisher, March 3, 2005, daughter Linda Margot, June 18, 2011, sister Alice A. Stone and brother Roger P. Williams.
