Walter Warneski

Walter Warneski, 92, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born August 15, 1920 in Wilkes Barre, PA, Walter lived most of his life in Newark and Sayreville, NJ before moving to Kingwood Township 18 years ago. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp and was a WWII veteran. Walter was the owner of Henrys Company, a small engine repair shop in Newark, NJ, for many years. He also worked for Mapps & Salk Company in Keyport, NJ and after his retirement there, he worked part time at Edison Generator Company, Edison, NJ.

Walter was a man that loved music. He played the piano, violin and banjo. Walter was known as a kind and caring man with a great sense of humor. He loved people and in return, people loved him. Walter was a member of the V.F.W. in Sayreville, NJ and he volunteered at the Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Walter is survived by his son Walter A. Warneski and his wife Catherine of Kingwood Township, NJ, his daughter Claudia J. Stepko and her husband Steve of Powhatan, VA, and his four grandchildren Stephen, Christine, Jessica and Nicholas. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Adele (Shalkauskas) Warneski, his parents John and Anna (Senko) Warneski, his four brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 6 PM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, 576 Stamets Road, Milford, NJ 08848.
