William Butler Obituary

William Butler, Sr., 85, of Holland Township passed away on Tuesday Nov. 9, 2010 at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born Jan. 28, 1925 in Everittstown, NJ, Bill was a son of the late John and Florence Compton Butler. He lived in the Flemington area before moving to Holland Township in 1977.
He served in the Merchant Marines and was a veteran of WWII. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Sandbrook Construction Co. in Ringoes and was a tractor trailer driver at one time. He enjoyed traveling and the outdoors.

He is survived by two sons, William,Jr. of Asbury, NJ and Ricky of Washington, NJ, two daughters, Betty Day of New York State and Marcy of Bethlehem, PA, four stepchildren, Robert and Arthur Schrimpe and Wendy and Robert White, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, George, John and Oliver.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 13, 2010 at 10 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ with Pastor Patrick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday Nov. 12 from 7 - 9 PM at the funeral home.
