Wilson "Bo" Baker Obituary

Wilson "Bo" Howard Baker, 88, of Harmony Township, NJ, formerly Holland Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Lopatcong Care Center in Lopatcong Township, NJ.


Born on July 8, 1937, in Harrisburg, PA, Bo grew up in Tunkhannock, PA. He lived in Somerville, NJ, before settling with his family in Baptistown, NJ and later moved to Holland Township, NJ in 1972. Bo was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving as an Embassy Guard, with posts in Korea and China.


Bo dedicated much of his professional life to serving others, working as an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance in Milford and Holland Township, NJ. He was also a licensed pilot and owner of three aircraft throughout his life. With his love of flying and generous spirit, he participated in Angel Flights, providing air transportation for children in need of medical care.


A passionate supporter of youth and community, Bo was an avid fan of high school and college sports and a longtime booster of the Del Val Athletics program. He served faithfully for over 50 years as both a Deacon and Elder at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, where he was a devoted and active member.


Bo was deeply involved in civic and charitable organizations. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a past president and life member of the Oak Hill Golf Club. He was also a longtime member and past president of the Milford Lions Club, a board member of the then YMCA and now known as the Riegel Ridge Community Center, and an active member of the Hunterdon Marine League. Bo also volunteered with the Kingwood Rescue Squad and the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Company.


Bo's legacy is one of service, generosity, and community spirit. He will be remembered with love and respect by all who knew him.


Son of the late Howard Wilson and Gertrude (Garey) Baker, Bo is survived by his two sons Jeff Baker and his wife Yvonne and Bruce Baker and his wife Lissa, his two daughters Robin Baker-Hicks and husband Michael, Jill Baker-Rosenberg and husband Jason, his brother Wayne Baker, his three sisters Margaret (Aunt Sis) Fritzinger, Sue Ann Talpas, and Martha Winifred Baker, his thirteen grandchildren Tylor, Brooke, Brandin, Brieann, Emily, Holden, Quinn, Sebastian, Quinten, Sarah, Patrick, Haley, Gabby and three great-grandchildren Owen, Judah, Jonah. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara J. Baker in 2019 and his brother Alvah Baker.


A Celebration of Bo’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2 PM at the Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, 22 4th Street, Frenchtown, NJ. Interment will be held at the Frenchtown Cemetery in Frenchtown, NJ.
