He is also survived by his sister Evelyn Hitchings and many wonderful friends that he considered family.

A wonderful and audacious man. Original and prone to living large. It was my pleasure to have worked with Dion at Marshall Field’s in Chicago and again at Lord & Taylor in New York. Gifted and devoted to his work he always surprised me—mostly in good ways! I will miss his sharp wit and kind heart. x
