Wayne Cochran

Wayne “Mike” Thomas Cochran, 81, formerly of Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away on March 19, 2024 at Doylestown Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. At the time of his passing, he resided with his daughter, Melissa Carafa in Quakertown, PA. Mike was the son of the late Anna and Clarence (Tom) Cochran of Upper Black Eddy, PA.

Mike graduated from Palisades High School in 1961. He then enlisted in the US Air Force, where he served active duty from 1962-1966 and as a reservist at the Willow Grove Air Base from 1966-1977, as a flight engineer. His military career provided extensive traveling, which he enjoyed immensely. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed woodworking. He was a loving father, brother and grandfather.

Mike will be dearly missed by his children Melissa Carafa of Quakertown, PA, Michelle Grosella of Lower Macungie, PA, and Michael Gardner of Pineville, PA. His pride and joy were his four grandsons, Joseph and John Carafa, and Dominic and Matthew Grosella. Mike is also survived by his sisters, JoAnne Paetzell and her husband Glenn of Upper Black Eddy, PA, Linda Miller and her husband John of Milford, NJ, and Sandra Weber and her husband Bud of Kintnersville, PA, and his brother James Cochran and his wife Edna of Upper Black Eddy, PA, all who enjoy many fond memories of his escapades. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends share the loss of such a wonderful man.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10-11 AM at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township, NJ. A Celebration of Mike’s Life will follow at 11 AM, with Pastor Linda Bullock officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at the Upper Tinicum Cemetery in Tinicum Township, PA.
